Mindful Meditation- November 1st & 15th 5:15-6:15 pm
These
1-hour mindfulness sessions serve as an introduction to meditation for
those new to the practice and provide support to those who currently
practice meditation. Each session includes 30 minutes of guided
meditation, 15 minutes of group discussion, and a 15 minute talk on a
specific element of meditation practice that will help you focus on
everyday mindfulness to help ease stress. Led by Dan Lawton, a qualified

Caregiver Support Group- November 2nd 5:30-6:30pm

Lamaze Series Class 4- November 3rd. 6:30-7:30 pm
This is the last of a 4 class series that takes place in October and November.
Learn about Lamaze's 6 healthy birth practices: Healthy eating during
pregnancy; Normal changes in your body during pregnancy; High risk
pregnancy vs. normal pregnancy; Recognizing signs and symptoms of labor;
Normal hospital procedures; Coping strategies for labor and delivery if
you desire to deliver naturally or even if you end up getting an
epidural. Meet new friends that also desire to learn all about what

Join our Lactation Consultants for this month’s Breastfeeding 101
class. where they offer support and encouragement as they discuss the
advantages of breastfeeding, how to get started, how to prevent

Women Warriors Workshop - November 16th 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Big Brother/Big Sister Class - November 16th 6:00pm
Big Brother, Big Sister is a special class for children, ages 3 – 10. Children learn safe ways to interact and care for their family’s new baby, practice diapering, make a special gift for the new baby and tour the SMH Birthing Center. Parents also receive tips on preparing their children for their new family addition. This class is free. To register, call (985) 280-2657.

Lunch and Learn is a monthly event where one of the SMH/Ochsner staff

Cooking with Chef Monteleone - November 30th 2:00 - 3:00 pm
Learn how to cook delicious and healthy food with Chef Brett Monteleone. The class will take place from 2-3pm in the SMH Wellness Pavillion. Those who preregister and attend the class will be entered into a raffle to win 25 samples of Chef Brett's delicious recipes!
