Upgrade your Canned Cranberry Sauce!
A homemade cranberry sauce is simple and delicious. Once you try this recipe, you'll never use canned sauce again!
Holiday dinners are not the same without a delicious cranberry sauce to accompany your perfectly roasted turkey and delicious buttered rolls. If you're looking to impress your Christmas dinner guests, make them a cranberry sauce that is simple, yet delicious. This recipe makes 4-6 servings.
Ingredients:
1 shallot, chopped
1 Tablespoon ginger, peeled and minced
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1- 12-ounce bag cranberries
½ cup white sugar
½ cup honey
2 each oranges, zest and juice
½ teaspoon kosher salt
Directions:
- In a pot over medium heat, add the shallots, ginger and oil and cook until the ginger is softened.
- Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens to the consistency of a syrup and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove from the heat, transfer to a storage container and store in the refrigerator.
- Serve chilled
