There's some
new help from
Ideal Protein, the weight-loss
program offered through Slidell Memorial Hospital, that's just in time to help
you carry on with your New Year's weight-loss commitment: a new website
dedicated to chef-created healthier recipes and cooking tips.
Canadian Chef Daniel Verati has teamed with the weight-loss program
Ideal Protein to launch lowfatlowcarb.com. The site offers free web-based tools
and recipes to promote and support healthy eating to help dieters achieve their
New Year's weight loss and health resolutions.
Every recipe by Chef Verati has a minimum of two cups of vegetables and
five to eight ounces of protein. The site offers cooking tips and tricks, a
toolbox with BMI, calorie, and calcium calculators, and even a contest to win a
meal for four cooked by Chef Verati in the winner's own home.
The Ideal Protein program is a safe, effective and realistic approach to
achieving weight loss and improving your health, according to SMH Registered
Dietitian Paula Brown. "It is not a gimmick.
It is also not a ‘cure' for obesity. This program will help you lose the
weight and tackle the hardest goal of all: making the weight loss permanent,”
Brown said.
Run through hospitals and health clinics across the country, the Ideal
Protein program has been brought to the East St. Tammany Parish and Picayune
communities following extensive research and testing by the professionals at
Slidell Memorial. Ideal Protein is a four-phase medically designed and
professionally supervised muscle-sparing weight loss protocol. It contains two
components: weight loss and healthy lifestyle education. The average person has
a weight loss of 3-5 pounds per week. The goal is to help you lose weight and
keep it off.
