(Mar. 15, 2011 – Slidell, LA) – Teen and pre-teen girls will have an opportunity to make hair donations to the Locks of Love organization at the upcoming A Day for Girls' Health, sponsored by the Slidell Memorial Hospital Parenting Center, Junior Auxiliary of Slidell, and Camellia City OB/GYN. A Day for Girls' Health will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the SMH Regional Cancer Center, located at 1120 Robert Blvd. in Slidell.
The Mirror Salon, a Locks of Love participating hair salon, will be providing a donation booth at the event accepting hair donations of 10 inches or more. Laura Chabreck, owner of The Mirror, has been a participating salon for more than five years. Girls making a Locks of Love donation will receive a free hairstyling at the event and a gift certificate for a free haircut at The Mirror Salon.
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization providing hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
